Accelerating Developer Productivity and Modernization With GitHub Copilot.

A national public media organization successfully launched a 30-day GitHub Copilot Business trial with full developer adoption, execution of a custom intermediate training program, and three deep-dive advisory sessions focused on modernization, testing, automation, and productivity acceleration. The engineering teams are now positioned to accelerate delivery, reduce technical debt, and apply AI-assisted development practices across their software lifecycle.

Unlocking Developer Velocity and Modernization With GitHub Copilot.

The organization aimed to modernize legacy systems, boost developer productivity, and integrate AI into secure, scalable DevOps workflows across a diverse engineering organization. Key objectives included accelerating delivery, reducing boilerplate code, improving code quality and testing, increasing developer productivity while maintaining strong security and governance, modernizing portions of their legacy architecture (PHP, SQL Server, Python, JS/TS), and understanding how GitHub Copilot could embed into their CI/CD, testing, and DevOps workflows.

Targeted GitHub Copilot Enablement Laying the Foundation for Advisory-Led Modernization.

InfoMagnus, in collaboration with GitHub, designed and delivered a tailored enablement program that began with a focused intermediate Copilot training session. This four-hour workshop emphasized real-world development scenarios, including prompt engineering, Copilot agent usage, and AI-assisted coding, documentation, and release support.

Following the training, three structured advisory sessions deepened the engagement. Each session was designed to connect Copilot capabilities directly to the organization’s engineering priorities: modernizing legacy architecture, improving test coverage and automation, and embedding AI into day-to-day DevOps workflows. These sessions gave engineering leads a clear view of how Copilot could reduce technical debt and accelerate delivery across their diverse technology stack.
