InfoMagnus led a dental insurance and benefits provider’s end-to-end migration from GitHub Server to Enterprise Cloud, taking ownership of upgrades and pipeline modernization while keeping internal teams focused on daily operations.
Faced with a complex set of challenges, a dental insurance and benefits provider’s aging GitHub Server needed transformation to the Cloud, but the team lacked experience with EMU, Actions, and the administration of GHEC. The team also needed assistance in accelerating the work to be done so that internal resources were not tied down with the migration project.
To help in the modernization, InfoMagnus engaged and took ownership over the upgrades needed to the GHES instance to prepare the platform for migration, allowing internal teams to remain focused on day-to-day tasks. InfoMagnus developed scripts to collect inventory of repositories and pipelines, clustering them by application ownership, and performed dry run migrations to identify issues, develop solutions, and ultimately ensure a smooth production migration plan.
Working with leadership, InfoMagnus built the migration timeline, identified needed downtime, and ensured a successful migration to the cloud. Concluding the engagement, InfoMagnus followed with education and enablement that taught tooling and assisted in the build of GitHub Actions reusable artifacts for CI/CD workflow automation — providing the organization with a modernized DevOps toolchain.
