Senior AWS Engineer

Job Summary

Responsibilities and Duties

We're seeking a highly motivated and skilled professional to join our growing team. In this pivotal role, you'll leverage your expertise in container orchestration to design, build, and manage highly scalable and fault-tolerant cloud infrastructure on AWS.

Design, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters using Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service).

Implement multi-Availability Zone (AZ) deployments for enhanced fault tolerance.

Utilize the AWS File Transfer Family and manage scalable object storage solutions (e.g. S3).

Implement comprehensive monitoring solutions and dashboards for proactive problem identification.

Select and implement appropriate messaging solutions based on project requirements (e.g. Kafka, MQ).

Lead the migration of on-premise applications to Amazon EKS using a "lift-and-shift" approach.

Ensure robust network security and data encryption practices (in-flight and at-rest).

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

6+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure design and management, preferably on AWS.

6+ years of experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

Must reside in PST or MTN time zone.

Must have managed an AWS migration rollout.

Strong understanding of key AWS services (S3, Secrets Manager, RDS, VPC, IAM).

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Desired Skills:

Experience with multi-region deployments and disaster recovery scenarios.

Familiarity with API Gateway for managing APIs.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
